The commitment of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation to the conservation of the works of art in the Peggy Guggenheim Collection acknowledges their exceptional intrinsic and historic importance, and serves the foundation’s mission to preserve these works to future generations.

The Peggy Guggenheim Collection collaborates with the Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio of Venice, and other Italian research institutions, which include the Opificio delle Pietre Dure, Florence, and the Consiglio Nazionale delle ricerche CNR (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche), Istituto Nazionale di Ottica INO, and the Istituto di Scienze e Tecnologie Molecolari del Centro Smaart in Perugia. It also participates in research projects for heritage conservation promoted by the EU, such as NANORESTART and APACHE. It also collaborates with the Integrated Project for the European Research Infrastructure on Culture Heritage IPERION CH .
