Setting the Stage
Setting the Stage

Workshop organized by the teachers and students of the Liceo Artistico Statale M. Guggenheim

In 1923, La Création du monde, a ballet featuring costumes and stage sets designed by Cubist painter Fernand Léger, premiered at the Théâtre des Champs-Elyées in Paris. Léger’s costumes were so rigid that they impeded the dancer’s movements, and blended in with the set in the background creating eye-catching visual effects. Discover the rich history of stage design and create your own miniature stage set with the help of the teachers and students of the Liceo Artistico Statale M. Guggenheim.
