Workshop “The First Breath on Earth and Its Subsequent Sublime Collapse”

On the occasion of the exhibition Maria Helena Vieira da Silva: Anatomy of Space, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection presents the 3-day workshop curated and led by the artistic collective Royal Divorce.

The First Breath on Earth and Its Subsequent Sublime Collapse is a dramaturgy workshop that invites participants to explore the liminal spaces of the digital universe through collective listening, dispersed memories, and virtual archives.

Participants will read and activate the comments left beneath a selection of YouTube music videos, transforming the comment sections into a dramaturgical space populated by a corpus of voices inhabiting the interstitial spaces of the web.

The workshop takes place over three days and ends will a site-specific performance for Avvenimento #3, a performance art event held at the museum on September 9, 2025.

• The workshop takes place on September 6, 7, and 8, from 10 am to 5 pm. Participants must guarantee their presence on all days.
• On September 9, at 7 pm, participants will deliver a performance during the Avvenimento #3 performative arts event (participation in the performance is optional).
• The workshop is for people aged over 18.
• Participation is free. Registration must be made through this page.
• The workshop is it Italian. A basic level of English is required.
