Visit to the Conservation Laboratory
Visit to the Conservation Laboratory

Luciano Pensabene Buemi guides members on a tour of the museum’s new conservation laboratory, a cutting-edge space dedicated to the study and preservation of works of art.

Participants will also learn about the GREENART project, which promotes the use of sustainable and low-environmental-impact materials in the conservation of cultural heritage, developing ecological solutions for the cleaning, conservation, and protection of works of art. The visit explores how scientific innovation and sustainability merge in the protection of works of twentieth-century art, including works by Piet Mondrian. The workshop also functions as a research and learning center that fosters exchanges between conservators and early-career professionals, highlighting the Peggy Guggenheim Collection’s efforts to safeguard and enhance the value of art.
