The Joy of Glass
The Joy of Glass

Workshop organized by Huang Xiaozhe
Two slots: 11 am and 2:30 pm

A workshop dedicated to discovering Murano glass through creativity, hands-on making, and the joy of creating together.
Children and their families are encouraged to slow down and immerse themselves in the magic of glass, exploring the qualities of different materials, artisanal techniques, and the joy of experimenting together.

Contemporary jewelry and glass artist Xiaozhe Huang, renowned internationally for her works and ability to tell stories through materials, introduces participants to glass working through a live demonstration of the lampworking technique.
Following the demonstration, children and adults will have an opportunity to experiment creating their own small glass object using antique Venetian glass beads. Each participant can choose from a selection of colors, shapes, and materials to create a bracelet, a pair of earrings, and a personal creation to take home. Through direct contact with the material and the patient rhythm of artisanal craft, the workshop is an opportunity to rediscover the pleasure of making things, strengthening the bonds between generations, and transforming simple glass beads into small objects charged with meaning.

An experience merging art and craft that celebrates Venice’s glass tradition and the opportunity to create something with one's own hands.
