The Avant-Gardes: Giacomo Balla, Sonia Delaunay, Sophie Taeuber-Art, and Vittorio Zecchin

The first event of the lecture series "Ariadne's Thread: Weaving Stories in Contemporary Art" will explore the avant-gardes of the twentieth century, focusing in particular on Giacomo Balla and Sonia Delaunay, who used thread to redefine the boundaries of art. Indeed, they transformed thread from a merely decorative element into expressive means of bringing together different artistic techniques.
