On the occasion of the exhibition dedicated to Marina Apollonio, the museum presents an event devoted to the fusion of Arte programmata and music, visual and auditory perception, the circularity of Optical art and the modulation of sound.
The final gallery of the exhibition Marina Apollonio: Beyond the Circle presents Endings (2024), a sound installation co-authored by Marina Apollonio and composer Guglielmo Bottin and inspired by her work Fusione circolare (2016-2024).
Visual and auditory perception merge in Endings, and ever more so in Never Endings, an event that explores the fusion between Arte programmata and music. On Thursday, February 27, from 3 pm, visitors can attend (T) o (n)(d) o. A Three-Voices Performance (2024) by Nina Baietta and take part in a listening session led by Bottin and Francesco Bergamo.
Circularity and modularity, key components of Apollonio’s practice and a feature of various sound, acoustic, and electronic practices, will immerse visitors in a multisensorial flux which simultaneously envelopes and frees the mind.
Never Endings is an event organized by the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and curated by Enrico Bettinello and Guglielmo Bottin.

(T) o (n)(d) o. A Three-Voices Performance
A sound event in which three vocal performers in a room act as resonant bodies that tell never-ending tales, investigating narrative archetypes through a shared vocabulary based on the repetition of vocal and corporeal gestures. In fact, the performance draws inspiration from a Veneto folk story titled Tondo, which features little action but is rich in evocative imagery. Vocal gestures add to the acoustic space, causing the listener to feel the sensation of moving beyond the gestures themselves, and investing perception with an active and creative role in the construction of sound objects. The trio of performers draws from an extant tradition of experimental music and vocal investigation, re-elaborating the techniques of performers such as Joan La Barbara and Meredith Monk.
