By Gražina Subelytė, Associate Curator della Collezione Peggy Guggenheim.
The lecture will explore the revolutionary aspect of the Surrealism through the works of art of Leonora Carrington, Max Ernst, René Magritte, Joan Miró, and Méret Oppenheim. Each looked at art as a constant exploration of the ‘marvelous,’ a concept they believed would reinvigorate humanity at a time of struggle, anxiety, and profound socio-political change.
