Marble on Paper
Marble on Paper

Workshop organized by Antica Legatoria Ofer

Paper marbling emerged in twelfth-century Japan and reached Europe through Turkey in the sixteenth century. The method soon caught the attention of Western artists, and its charm has continued to fascinate modern and contemporary painters such as Philip Taaffe and Ugo Zovetti. The aim of the technique is to create an artistic rendition of a marble surface, imitating its colored veins and streaks. During the workshop, participants will learn how to use instruments and unusual materials to create their own marbled paper.
