As part of the Art and Science Weekend at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, children aged 8 to 11 are invited to join this free workshop and explore the intersection between creativity and scientific principles.
Spectrum stages a sculpture of balances to explore refraction and diffraction, two optical metaphors that allow us to expand the concept of an object, while simultaneously maintaining both its position and its "elsewhere." Using rich, vibrant colors, we will observe and document these moments of interaction between light, objects, and the participants of the workshop. Spectrum is an image—or rather, many images—that narrate constructions and relationships.
Join us for an exciting afternoon where art and science come together in a journey of visual discovery!
The Art and Science Weekend at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection is organized in collaboration with the Fondazione Golinelli. The workshops are led by Giulia Filippi and Virginia di Lazzaro, two artists who collaborate with the museum’s Education Department, and Chiara Ciliberto, a disigner who collaborates with Fondazione Golinelli.
