The Peggy Guggenheim Collection joins the Festival of Reading with a workshop inspired by the work If the Form Vanishes Its Root Is Eternal by Mario Merz. The verse of a poem written by Rumi, a Persian poet, illuminates the museum sculpture garden thanks to a neon light installation that Merz created about 30 years ago.
On Sundays at 3pm, free workshops for children between 4 and 10 years of age take place at the museum. Younger visitors are introduced to art in an accessible and engaging way, and are also given the opportunity to learn and explore various topics and experiment with different art techniques. The workshop starts with the study of one or more works in the permanent collection or the temporary exhibition, and then continues with a hands-on activity that elaborates on what has been discovered and lets the participants exercise their manual and creative skills.
