A guided tour led by Elisabetta Barisoni, Head of Ca’ Pesaro – International Gallery of Modern Art, explores the first retrospective in Italy of Chilean artist Roberto Matta.
Ca’ Pesaro presents the first major retrospective in Italy dedicated to eclectic genius Roberto Matta. The exhibition, which focuses in particular on the connection between Matta and Venice, examines the most important stages of the artist’s career, from his earliest Surrealist works to his mature experimentations. From monumental canvases dominating the gallery spaces to sculptures that seem to emerge from oneiric landscapes, each of Matta’s works invites viewers to get lost in labyrinths of form and color. Elisabetta Barisoni, Head of Ca’ Pesaro – International Gallery of Modern Art, guides members through this meticulously curated exhibition that covers the various phases of the artist's career, highlighting his continual experimentations and tireless search for new forms of expression.
