Guided Tour of “The Nineteenth-Century Venetian Portrait” Exhibition

Curator Roberto De Feo guides members on a tour of the temporary exhibition organized by Ca’ Pesaro – International Gallery of Modern Art dedicated to nineteenth-century Venetian portraiture. The exhibition aims to recreate a major show on the same theme, organized by the gallery’s first director, Nino Barbantini, in 1923. The exhibition features works by renowned artists such as Girolamo Michelangelo Grigoletti, Francesco Hayez, Ludovico Lipparini, and Pompeo Marino Molmenti, who trained and lived in Venice, documenting the society and spirit of the age, and the protagonists of its great upheavals.
