Guided Tour of the Gallerie dell’Accademia
Guided Tour of the Gallerie dell’Accademia

Venice guides and art historians Cristina Gregorin and Minu Habibi Minelli guide members on a tour of the new exhibition dedicated to Titian and the recent acquisitions of the Gallerie dell’Accademia.

The exhibition dedicated to the great Venetian master traces the early stages of his career through 17 signed works set in comparison with ten paintings, engravings, and drawings by other contemporary artists. The display highlights Titian’s extraordinary ability to merge and assimilate various influences and create a personal style which simultaneously embraced naturalism and classicism.

As for the museum's recent acquisitions, these are ten previously unseen works, acquired by the Italian State from private collections for over one million euro, including masterpieces by Pietro Ricchi, Giambattista Tiepolo, Bonifacio Veronese, and Bartolomeo Vivarini. The tour will also allow participants to admire works by some of the great masters of Venetian painting, including Giorgione’s The Tempest (1503–1509), Giovanni Bellini’s Pietà (ca. 1505), and Paolo Veronese’s Feast in the House of Levi (1573), and many others.
