The exhibition focuses on the career of the Italian artist, born in Udine, Afro Basaldella. Regarded as a central figure of international abstraction, Afro left Venice to continue his artistic research in the United States, becoming one of the most popular and appreciated Italian artists among US collectors. Through 45 masterpieces, several drawings, and archival materials, the exhibition highlights the crucial years of Afro’s artistic production, tracing the development of a highly personal pictorial language that united an assimilation of Venetian painting with reflections on abstraction and other avant-garde movements.
