Every Soiled Page, Ishara Art Foundation, Dubai
Live walk-through of the exhibition conducted by curator Sabih Ahmed with the participation of collector and founder Smita Prabhakar.
Ishara Art Foundation was founded in 2019 by Smita Prabhakar, as a non-profit organization dedicated to presenting contemporary art of South Asia. Located in Dubai, the Foundation supports emerging and established practices that advance critical dialogue and explore global interconnections. The Foundation facilitates exchange between South Asian and international artistic networks that include museums, foundations, institutions, galleries and individuals.
Highlighting the different surfaces and materials on which memories, traces, imprints and songs reside, this exhibition features works from the Prabhakar Collection by artists Anju Dodiya, Astha Butail, Neha Choksi, Praneet Soi and Sunil Padwal, and a newly commissioned performance-installation by Inder Salim. The tour will be led by Sabih Ahmed, Associate Director and Curator of the Foundation and curator of the exhibition. We will be joined by the Founder and Chairperson of Ishara Art Foundation, Smita Prabhakar, for the Q&A session thereafter.
