Workshop organized by Fablab Venezia – Digital Fabrication & Social Innovation
Two slots: 11 am and 2:30 pm
An educational tinkering and robotics workshop in which art, movement, and technology meet to create remarkable drawing tools.
Children aged 6–10 and their parents will have an opportunity to design and create a small machine that moves automatically, tracing lines on a sheet of paper.
Using a basic battery-powered motor, found materials, pens, and everyday objects, participants will experiment with different shapes, balances, and possibilities to create their own “artist machine.” The limbs of the machine, built from basic materials, will become instruments to explore unpredictable lines, rhythms, and compositions. Through hands-on making, observation, and shared experimentation, participants will discover even a small device can become a creative medium capable of generating unique marks and images.
The workshop also encourages participants to see mistakes as part of the creative process: each attempt, adjustment, and discovery becomes an opportunity to learn together, fostering curiosity, collaboration, and imagination.
