December’s Double Meaning event examines Jean Dubuffet and his work Portrait of the Soldier Lucien Geominne (1950).
A Double Meaning event that explores Dubuffet’s stylized depictions of the human body using simple, coarse, and almost childlike strokes and marks. Participants will also discover one of the most innovative aspects of the artist’s creative process: his use of materials in painting considered highly unconventional at the time, such as sand, plaster, and shards of glass.
Double Meaning events are free, but booking is required.
