Double Meaning: Pablo Picasso and “Half-length Portrait of a Man in a Striped Jersey”

April’s Double Meaning event is centered on Pablo Picasso and his work Half-length Portrait of a Man in a Striped Jersey (1939), created just before the outbreak of World War II.

Picasso’s broken down and geometrized human form features a drastic elimination of details in the face and body. Participants will be able to engage in a tactile exploration of the work and join a sculpture workshop led by blind artist Felice Tagliaferri, which will help create a mental image of Klee’s painting.

Double Meaning events are free, but booking is required.
