Guided tour of Casino Zane followed by the show On Aura Tout Vu! A Night at the Café-Concert.
An authentic gem of late seventeenth-century Venetian architecture, Casino Zane was commissioned by Marino Zane as a “small house” intended for entertainment and relaxation, located next to his family home. Decorated by some of the most renowned artists of the time—Andrea Brustolon, Ferdinando Fochi, and Sebastiano Ricci—since 2009 it houses Palazzetto Bru Zane – Centre de musique romantique française, which endeavors to rediscover and promote the French musical heritage of the long nineteenth century (1780–1920).
A guided tour introduces visitors to this marvelous space, built three hundred years ago to enjoy the pleasures of music. This is followed by the show On Aura Tout Vu! A Night at the Café-Concert, an invitation to rediscover the innovative world of the Parisian café-concert. Taking a sometimes offbeat but always sensitive and respectful look at this under-performed repertory, the show reminds us of the permanence of human concerns, whether it be political demands, the desire for carnal love, or simply the need for the marvelous and for escapism.
A show for all ages, in which words and music cheerfully collide with each other!
