The Peggy Guggenehim Collection presents The Coast Guard Cadet Chorale

On Sunday, March 7, at 12 noon, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection is pleased to host The Coast Guard Cadet Chorale in the Nasher Sculpture Garden. The Coast Guard Cadet Chorale is a select
group of cadets from the United States Coast Guard Academy, that will perform a variety of music, featuring close harmony renditions of patriotic selections, sea chanteys, and swing tunes.

The group travels extensively throughout the United States to perform for both public and official functions. Disneyworld in Florida, the Rose Bowl Parade in California, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, and the 2005 Super Bowl. During its concert tour of Italy, the Chorale will include performance selections such as Calm and Storm, Danny Boy, It Don’t Mean A Thing, Italian National Anthem, My Prayer, The Battle Hymn Of The Republic.

The group’s director and musical arranger is Dr. Robert G. Newton, Director of Vocal Music at the United States Coast Guard Academy.

The concert will last 45 minutes. Attendance is open to all museum visitors with a regular entrance ticket.
