Festive season at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection

Tuesday 25th December, Christmas Day, as happens every year, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection will be closed to the public. However throughout the Christmas period, the Museum is open every day at the usual hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (except Tuesday). In addition to the permanent collection of Peggy Guggenheim, it will also be possible to visit the temporary exhibition “Luxardo. Flesh and Dream”.
Tuesday 1st January 2002 the Collection is open with aperitifs offered by Aperol Barbero 1891 to welcome in the New Year for all visitors. Now a tradition at the museum, this is possible thanks to the generosity of Barbero 1891.
From 1st January, entrance charges at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection will be increased. The price for an adult ticket becomes € 8, a reduced ticket € 5. With these one can visit the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Nasher Sculpture Garden, the Gianni Mattioli Collection and the temporary exhibitions. Administrative costs of an increasingly intensive program and the offer of more efficient and complete services has made necessary this small rise in the entrance prices.
For the period Monday 7th January to Tuesday 15th January 2002 the Peggy Guggenheim Collection will be closed for general maintenance.
The next temporary exhibition, Themes and Variations: Post-war art from the Guggenheim collections, opens on 1st February (until August 4), and is curated by Luca Massimo Barbero, President of the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa. The exhibition will bring together paintings, sculptures and works on paper, mainly by post-war Italian artists, from the Guggenheim Foundation collections, as well as a limited number of works from private collections. This dynamic and innovative installation will present a wide range post-war art: Appel, Bacci, Bacon, Burri, César, Dubuffet, Fontana, Hundertwasser, Jorn, Mirko, Manzoni, Moore, Nicholson, Pizzinato, Pomodoro, Santomaso, Tancredi, Vasarely, Vedova and many others.
