Day of solidarity at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection

On Sunday September 16, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection will donate its entire admissions income to a fund to help the families of the victims of the recent terrorist strikes in the United States.

The donation will be placed at the disposal of a member of the Board of Trustees of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, Howard J. Lutnick, a young philanthropist and president of Cantor Fitzgerald and of eSpeed International. These two companies occupied four floors near the top of one of the twin towers of the World Trade Center, and it has been reported that 730 out of 1,000 employees tragically died when the tower collapsed, including a member of the Lutnick family.

The Peggy Guggenheim Collection extends an invitation to all Venetians and Venetian visitors to come to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection on Sunday (thereby contributed their ticket charge to the charitable cause), to see Peggy Guggenheim’s collection, the masterpieces form the Gianni Mattioli Collection, the Nasher Sculpture Garden and the exhibition Gino Severini. The Dance 1909-1916.
