Collateral Events

The program of collateral events revolves around the theme of memory as a continuous space between past and future. Activities including guided tours, workshops, and lectures will trace the beginnings of Peggy Guggenheim’s career, marked by her support for twentieth-century avant-gardes at a time when gathering the courage to experiment, innovate, and challenge conformism was both necessary and risky. The events aim to help visitors appreciate Guggenheim’s revolutionary attitude, so that the virtuous actions of the past may serve as lessons in building the future.
