Each year, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection awards four scholarships for internships in different departments of the museum.

The interns collaborate with specific departments and, by supporting the museum’s staff, gain professional experience and understanding of the museum’s operations.

(In honor of Philip Rylands)

The generous donation offered by the Peggy Guggenheim Collection’s Advisory Board in 2017, followed in 2018 by those of the Guggenheim UK Charitable Trust, Pilar Crespi, and Marina Prada, have made it possible to establish a curatorial internship in honor of Philip Rylands, Director Emeritus of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.

The internship offers the opportunity to gain experience in the numerous aspects of curating a dynamic twentieth-century art collection, such as conducting online and in-person research in archives and libraries on various topics, artists, works of art and their provenance; compiling bibliographies, chronologies, and other tasks related to the production of exhibition catalogs; compiling lists of objects and recording installations; assisting in the preparation of explanatory texts and labels or other exhibition-related materials. In addition, there is the opportunity to conduct research to support the museum's projects in the field of conservation.

It is not currently possible to apply for this internship.

Thanks to a generous donation from Carola Jain, member of the Advisory Board, the Digital Social Media Internship offers one candidate the opportunity to spend a period of five-to-six months within the Communication Department. The intern reports directly to the Press Officer and Social Media Manager and the Social Media Coordinator.

The intern is selected for their previous experience in social media management, copywriting, strong verbal and written communication skills and, above all, a passion for creative storytelling. Tasks may include assisting with the creation of original daily social media content, drafting social copy representative of the museum, reviewing existing content, researching existing content and creating new and forward-thinking narratives about the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions for social platforms.

The intern will have the opportunity to assist in the museum’s Department for Individual Development and Membership and gain professional experience of its numerous and diverse administrative tasks. It includes working alongside and contributing to initiatives intended for individual members and supporting the planning of cultural events designed for various membership levels.
