• Open to current university students, or recent graduates (within twelve months of the application deadline) holding a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• You should have a background in art, art history, museum studies, or related fields.
• Experience in other sectors or lived experiences that bring new perspectives and transferable skills to the fellowship are welcomed and valued.
• Fellowships run year-round (January–December).
• The fellowship may last one, two, or three months, with a corresponding amount of €1,000, €2,000, or €3,000.
• You will be present and on site in Venice for the duration of the placement.

Note: Italian students should apply for a curricular internship at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection (see below).

You should complete the online application form and submit the following materials:

• Curriculum vitae (CV) detailing your educational background, relevant experience, and key skills.
• Letter of motivation (maximum one page). Please refer to the application form for guidance on the topics to address in your letter.
• Two reference letters speaking to your academic or professional qualifications and your suitability for the program.
• University transcripts or language certificates may also be included to support your application, though they are not required.

• For placements from January–May 2027, the application deadline is September 20, 2026.

• For placements from May–December 2027, the application deadline is November 29, 2026.

Please note that late or emailed applications cannot be considered. You may apply for both terms if you wish.

Both accepted and unsuccessful candidates will be notified via e-mail.

• Applicants for January–May will be notified on October 30, 2026.
• Applicants for May–December will be notified on February 16, 2027.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s degree program at a partner Italian university. To participate, students are required to complete an agreement (progetto formativo) with their university, formalizing the internship as part of their academic curriculum.

• Curricular internships typically last two months and correspond to 6 CFU (150 hours).
• You will receive academic credit through your university for your participation and the internship does not include reimbursement of expenses.
• A commitment of at least four days per week (up to a maximum of 40 hours weekly) is required, excluding Tuesdays, when the museum is closed. The other two days off will be agreed once accepted.

• Placements are assigned on a rolling basis throughout the year.
• The selection process includes an interview.
• The museum can accommodate a limited number of curricular interns.
• We recommend applying a few months before your preferred period and, if possible, indicating your full availability for the academic year.

Due to the high volume of interest, only short-listed candidates will be invited to an interview. Because positions are filled on a rolling basis throughout the year, you might receive a reply anywhere from soon after applying, to several months before your intended internship period.
