The Digital Social Media Fellowship offers a unique opportunity to join the Communications Department at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice and learn how a leading art institution communicates through digital platforms. The role focuses on content creation, particularly video production and editing, in a dynamic, international environment.
The ideal candidate is creative, curious, and collaborative, enjoys turning ideas into engaging visuals, and is ready to explore the collection, ask questions, and help tell the story of the museum, its art, its people, and its daily life.

Main tasks
- Assist the Communications Department with the creation of original content with a strong focus on video formats (aesthetic videos, interviews, vlogs, etc.) and storytelling strategies.
- Assist in video production and editing, from concept to final cut (shooting, assembling clips, adding captions, transitions, sounds, etc.)
- Draft social copy aligned with the tone of voice of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.
- Research and develop engaging narratives about the permanent collection, temporary exhibitions, and Peggy Guggenheim’s legacy, tailored to digital audiences, and propose innovative ways to engage with audiences through video and new media formats.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop creative and accessible content, in tune with the life of the museum.
- Seek opportunities for emerging social platforms based on key insights and propose new ways to succeed in social media as a result.
- The fellow can also participate in the educational activities of the International Fellowship Program (seminars, conferences, study trips in and outside Venice, and guided tours specifically organized to facilitate practice, discussion, and deepening of academic and professional skills). They can access the museum’s library of modern and contemporary art, and archival materials.
Skills and requirements
- For international candidates and Italian candidates residing abroad.
- University background in Communication, Digital Media, Film, Visual Arts or related fields, with a strong interest in art.
- Creative mindset with a passion for visual storytelling and a good eye for framing, pacing, and rhythm.
- Familiarity with short-form video platforms and content creation for social media (especially Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Stories).
- Knowledge of tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Lightroom), Canva, and CapCut, and basic proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Edits, or similar).
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Fluent in English, preferably a good level of Italian.
- Preferable: 6–12 months of experience (formal or informal) in content creation or media production.
- The ideal candidate has experience in photography, graphic design, or motion graphics.
Fellowship
- The selected candidate will receive a monthly fellowship of €1000.
