Lucio Fontana
1957
Concetto spaziale represents Lucio Fontana’s interpretion of Spazialismo, which challenged traditional easel painting by introducing new dimensions of space and time, emulating the discoveries of science and technology. Fontana manifested this by perforating the canvas with an awl, creating scattered holes. This work evokes a transforming cosmic energy taking place in agalaxy or on a planetary body.
