neuburgerJean-Frédéric Neuburger, piano

Born in Paris in 1986, Jean-Frédéric Neuburger stands out as one of the most brilliant musicians of his generation. A finalist in the Concours international Long-Thibaud in 2004, he has undertaken a career as a pianist characterised by extreme variation in his repertoire. He has been invited to perform with such orchestras as the New York Philharmonic, the San Francisco Symphony, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Paris Orchestra, the Radio-France Philharmonic, the NHK Symphony, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, and with conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Michael Tilson Thomas, Jonathan Nott, Osmo Vanska and Pierre Boulez, with whom he is working on his Second Sonata. He has performed at numerous festivals: Verbier, Klavier-Festival Ruhr, Festival Messiaen à la Meije, Musikverein, Auditorium du Louvre, and his music has been interpreted by other performers, such as Tatjana Vassiljeva, François Salque, Bertrand Chamayou and the Quatuor Modigliani. In 2010 the Festival de la Roque d’Anthéron commissioned a piece for two pianos and percussion; in 2012 the Cantante, commissioned by Radio-France, was performed by the Chœur et Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France and by Pascal Rophé. He is professor of piano accompaniment at the Conservatoire National Supérieur of Paris. He was nominated “Rising Star” in 2010-2011 by the Cité de la Musique, the 2010 winner of the Prix Lili et Nadia Boulanger dell’Académie des Beaux-Arts. He records mainly with Mirare and his score is published by Éditions Durand.
