BSI Bank is a long-standing patron of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and, since 2001, has contributed to the capital fund for the progressive structural expansion of the museum. One of the temporary exhibition galleries of the Collection is named for BSI. From 2001 to 2011, the Collection and the Bank have collaborated on the organization of several exhibitions such as Robert Rauschenberg. Gluts, Villa Panza, Varese (2010-2011); Ethnopassion. Peggy Guggenheim's Ethnic Art Collection, Galleria Gottardo, Lugano (2008) and Fondazione Mazzotta, Milan (2008-2009); Richard Pousette-Dart, Galleria Gottardo, Lugano (2007); Family Pictures, Galleria Gottardo, Lugano (2005); The Spiritual Landscape, Galleria Gottardo, Lugano (2003); A Coterie of Artists: A Brief History in Images of Peggy Guggenheim’s Collection, Galleria Gottardo, Lugano (2003). Traditionally proactive in the visual arts, BSI founded in 2000 an important collection of contemporary art, the BSI Art Collection. Since 2007 BSI Bank also promotes the BSI Swiss Architectural Award.
