Little is known about the function of such sculptures. The man wears a necklace, and the musical instrument may be a balafon or a sanza. The head of the figure is a later addition. The stool on which he sits is of the type of the imago mundi: two disks, earth and sky, linked by a central stem, to which are added legs representing the human figure.
